What we take care of

Mountain grounds need more than mowing. Here's what our landscaping work covers.

Seasonal maintenance

Mowing, edging, weeding, bed care and cleanups on a regular schedule, so the grounds stay in shape whether or not you’re in town.

Custom garden design

Planting plans built around what actually thrives at altitude: native and hardy species that handle a short growing season, cold nights and dry summers.

Hardscape and stonework

Patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls and boulder work in stone that suits mountain architecture and holds up through freeze-thaw cycles.

Irrigation systems

Installation, repairs and seasonal adjustments, so plantings get the water they need without waste.

Tree and shrub care

Pruning, shaping and upkeep for aspens, evergreens and ornamental shrubs.

Fire mitigation

Thinning and clearing vegetation near the home to create defensible space, and choosing plantings that are less likely to carry a fire.

Through the seasons

At Vail Valley elevations the growing season is short, roughly late May into early October, so timing matters.

Spring

Cleanup after the snow melts, bed preparation, and getting irrigation running again.

Summer

Regular mowing and bed care, watering checks, and planting while conditions are right.

Fall

Leaf cleanup, cutting back perennials, and getting irrigation and plantings ready for winter.

Winter

A good time to plan next season’s projects. Our snow removal team takes over the grounds.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer ongoing maintenance or one-time projects?

Both. We can keep the grounds on a regular seasonal schedule, or take on a single project such as a new patio, garden bed or a full property cleanup.

What plants do well in the Vail Valley?

Native and cold-hardy plants do best at this elevation. Aspens, spruce, potentilla, penstemon and Colorado columbine are common choices. We plan plantings around your property’s sun, soil and water.

Can you help with wildfire defensible space?

Yes. Fire mitigation is part of our landscaping work. We thin and clear vegetation close to the home and recommend plantings that lower the risk of fire spreading toward the house.

Can you look after the grounds while I’m away?

Yes. We keep the property on schedule whether or not you’re in town. If you want one team for the whole property, see our estate caretaking service.

Do you handle snow removal in the winter?

Yes. Our snow removal service covers driveways, walkways, decks and roofs through the winter.
